Welcome to Extensibility Public BETA

We are thrilled to announce Public BETA availability of Extensibility features within AEC Data Model! With the mutations queries you can now extend the AEC Data Model with custom properties.

Last year, we made significant strides by unlocking element-level data from Revit, making it accessible outside the BIM model. This year, we are advancing further by delivering capabilities to extend this data directly and apply extension properties through various experiences, delivered both via API and within our Autodesk Construction Cloud product interface.

This extensibility capability can unlock significant changes to how properties across modeling authoring tools like Revit are created and populated. Stakeholders can append information to a model element or property without that information residing in the model and increasing the file size.

Example

A construction firm can now append cost information from their costing database externally to the Revit model. This data no longer resides within the Revit file, subsequently reducing model bloat.

Please refer to AEC Data Model Extensibility blog post for additional details.

Requirements
  • Must have their hub enabled for AEC Data Model access
  • Must be part of an ACC project which hosts the model file
  • Must have 'READ' (or higher) permissions to the folder which hosts the model file
